A Dental Visit During COVID-19

Updated 11/2021

Face coverings and social distancing measures will remain in place across healthcare settings so that the most vulnerable people can continue to safely attend.

Booking an appointment

We are providing emergency appointments and routine appointments for all existing patients, however, we may assess you over the phone before booking a visit in person. Please bear with us if we can’t book you in as quickly or flexibly as we normally would.

Please do not visit the practice in person without a pre-arranged appointment.

When you do visit us, we ask that you follow the following steps. We’d like to thank you for your understanding and patience.

Before Your Appointment

The practice will send you an appointment reminder by text or email before your appointment. This text or email reminder will contain a link to a secure patient portal where you can complete all necessary forms pre-appointment. This includes a mandatory Covid-19 appointment questionnaire. You can also use this portal to check yourself in when you arrive. Please contact the practice for alternative arrangements.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19, please let us know as soon as possible and do not attend your appointment.

  • A high temperature

  • A new, continuous cough

  • Loss or change to your sense of taste or smell

The Day of Your Appointment

  • Please only bring necessary items with you.

  • The front door of the practice will be locked for your own safety.

  • When you arrive please wait outside of the practice. Check-in using the patient portal, text or phone us to let our team know you have arrived. If you arrive early please wait outside or in your car until your appointment time.

  • Please ensure you attend your appointment alone unless you require assistance or are supporting a child or someone vulnerable.

  • Unfortunately, you will not be able to bring your children with you to your appointment.

Entering the Practice

  • Adults and children 11 years or older must wear a mask on entry to the building unless exempt due to breathing difficulties or disability.

  • Once within the practice, you will be asked to sanitise your hands.

  • We will request payment before your appointment (if appropriate), by card to enable you to have a swift departure once your treatment has been completed.

  • We would ask our patients to follow social distancing guidelines at all times.

  • Upon entering the treatment room our teams will be wearing extra Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in order to provide you with the safest care. You will be asked to place any personal items in a box.

  • Each room as always will have been carefully cleaned and disinfected after each patient.

After Your Appointment

Once your treatment is complete you will be asked to hand sanitise one last time, before we say goodbye.

If you have any questions after the appointment or need further appointments, we may call you to minimize your time in the practice.

If you begin to develop any symptoms of possible COVID-19 following your appointment, you should contact the practice to inform us and follow the appropriate self-isolation advice.
